Loquendo, the global speech technology company, and CreaLog, the leading provider of Voice Portal Solutions in Europe, today announced that they have signed an agreement whereby CreaLog will integrate Loquendo’s multilingual speech technologies into its flagship product CreaVoice® Voice Portal.
The CreaLog Voice Portal Platform is powered by Loquendo Technologies - including Loquendo TTS, Loquendo ASR and Loquendo Speaker Verification - and is the basis for application-specific and individual solutions. CreaVoice® manages the caller dialogue and is responsible for coordinating all activities, including speech recognition, synthetic speech, speaker verification, voice-logging and conferencing.
Loquendo offers a high quality, multi-lingual portfolio of speech technologies, including Loquendo TTS and Loquendo ASR which enable systems integrators to provide simple, intuitive voice interaction with information. CreaLog, the Munich-based IT specialist in voice portals, is expanding its corporate headquarters in the Bavarian capital.
The company, which this year won the TeleTalk “Best of CeBIT 2005“ Award for its innovative voice portal solution for the interactive TV auction channel 1-2-3.TV, is adding four highly qualified project developers to its current Munich team.
CreaLog was founded 13 years ago and this will now bring the total number of staff employed in its three sites of Munich, Frankfurt and Vienna up to 31, with 23 of them in Munich.
Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs was delighted at the way the company was expanding. “Bavaria is not only an attractive IT location for large groups, but also offers a good base for small and medium-sized companies “, the Minister commented. Demand for high-performance voice portals is currently on the increase.
Market observers are assuming strong growth in the double-digit range. In particular financial service providers, call centers, telephone carriers, media companies, but also trade and industry are registering a growing need for speech dialog and speech recognition systems. Telecom Innovators News: The Price is Always Right
On October 1, 2004, an innovative home shopping service called 1-2-3.TV was launched in Germany. As with typical home shopping networks, 1-2-3.TV viewers are presented with a selection of items for sale, such as clothing, sporting goods, cosmetics, home improvement items, and gifts, but because the price shown is only a minimum to start the bidding process, the similarity ends there. The mechanism for calculating the selling price with 1-2-3.TV is as simple as it is exciting. Each item is initially priced at one euro, and viewers can bid by telephone the maximum price they feel the offered article is worth. The telephone bidding process uses a voice portal and CRM solution by CreaLog, a leading European voice portal provider, built on NMS’ flexible, open, and scalable Open Access platform. At the end of the sale, the viewers offering the highest prices receive the product. 1-2-3.TV’s special gimmick is that all winning buyers need only pay the lowest price that was successfully bid, so some viewers can end up paying much less than they thought the article was actually worth.
