Controlled access to data, tools and back-end functions
Model Context Protocol (MCP)
CreaLog uses MCP as a standardised interface between AI applications and enterprise systems. This enables defined functions to be deployed in a targeted manner, access to be controlled, and existing back-end processes to be integrated into AI-powered services.
What is MCP?
MCP is an open standard that enables AI applications to access specific tools, resources and data sources in a targeted manner.
AI applications require access to various systems: CRM, ticketing, databases, APIs or specialist applications.
MCP standardises this connection. MCP servers describe which prompts, tools and resources are available. AI applications make targeted requests to the servers via an MCP client. This allows access to backend systems to be facilitated in a structured and controlled manner, without an LLM accessing data and systems directly.
How do the MCP client and MCP server work?
MCP separates the requesting AI application from the systems and functions it wishes to use.
MCP client
Submits requests to one or more MCP servers on behalf of the AI application.
MCP server
Describes which capabilities are available and provides them in a standardised manner.
Three key functions:
Tools
Defined functions that an AI application can call, such as a status query or a backend function call.
Resources
Data or content that an AI application can read, such as information from an API, file or data source.
Prompts
Predefined instructions or contexts that assist an AI application with a specific task.
We integrate MCP into real-world communication and service environments
Integrated MCP client
The MCP client is an integral part of the CreaLog platform.
Flexible deployment of MCP servers
Existing MCP servers can be integrated. CreaLog also develops and implements new MCP servers tailored to individual requirements, providing the appropriate data, tools and backend functions.
Integrating backend systems
APIs, databases and business systems are integrated in a controlled manner via defined MCP functions.
Remaining technology-agnostic
MCP is not tied to a specific LLM and is therefore in line with CreaLog’s technology-agnostic integration approach.
Omnichannel communication built in
The integrated functions can be used in voice, chat and digital service processes.

Sessionless MCP
MCP itself is also evolving. In traditional MCP operations, sessions must be taken into account in terms of architecture and scaling. Sessionless MCP simplifies this approach: requests are no longer tied to an existing session or a specific server instance.
For businesses, this means that new features and backend systems can be made available via MCP with less technical effort.
MCP is part of our AI architecture
MCP is a key connectivity layer within viable AI applications. However, it does not replace the entire AI architecture.
