A milestone along the way has been speaker-independent recognition (ASR) and interpretation (NLU) of complete sentences. A technology that is now referred to as 'Conversational AI'.
In 2015, our contact center solutions were certified for Microsoft's Lync/Skype for Business, and we have now applied for certification of our solutions for Microsoft Teams.
Today, we deliver successful AI-based solutions to our telco and contact center customers based on Microsoft Server and Nuance speech recognition, speech biometrics and speech analytics technologies. With the merger of the world's leading AI and speech technology companies Nuance and Microsoft, we expect even better and more flexible technologies to be incorporated into our solutions and systems in the future.
Nuance and Microsoft will now jointly leverage their experienced teams, world-class platforms and expertise to redefine the future of customer communications. Nuance will further extend its proven AI-driven customer care technologies in voice, digital and biometrics with the benefits of Microsoft's secure, scalable AI and cloud infrastructure. Mark Benjamin will remain CEO of Nuance, reporting to Scott Guthrie, EVP of Cloud & AI at Microsoft. He will continue to be supported by the current Nuance Enterprise leadership team and organization.
